2022 ACHE-NJ Distinguished Service Award Recipient Announced


Maureen A. Schneider, PhD, MBA, RN, Senior Vice President Atlantic Health System, President Chilton Medical Center

Dr. Schneider’s career spans both New York and New Jersey where she held several executive management positions including chief operating officer and chief nurse executive. Her leadership and clinical career began at New York Presbyterian Health System-Weill Cornell Campus. Her years spent in Chilton Medical Center serving as chief nursing officer and chief operations officer led to her recent appointment as president, Chilton Medical Center, senior vice president Atlantic Health System.

She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Hunter College-Bellevue School of Nursing, an MBA from Monmouth University, and a doctorate from Seton Hall University, she is certified in Advanced Nursing Administration, Quality Healthcare, is a Fellow in the College of Healthcare Executives, and is a Johnson and Johnson Executive Wharton Fellow.


Dr. Schneider has been an active leader in the mergers and acquisitions of several health systems. She was involved in developing a new 1000 bed hospital in NYC, led strategy and development of The Steeplechase Cancer Center, Medical Coordinating-Bioterrorism Center, and orchestrated the clinical integration for the planned merger of the Somerset Medical Center with Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center. She also achieved Magnet Accreditation Recognition for Nursing Excellence for three separate healthcare organizations in 2003, 2011 and for Chilton Medical Center in 2020. In addition, she holds an adjunct faculty position at Seton Hall University teaching doctoral and graduate business and leadership/management and undergraduate students, along with being an accomplished author, coach, presenter, and executive/leadership mentor.
